Summary:

We need to embrace human-centric design approaches to provide modern user experiences layered on top of traditional manufacturing environments.  This role is for you if you want to be part of a team that empowers our clients by creating innovative digital solutions that unlock productivity, efficiency and flexibility.

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and enthusiastic Senior Business Consultant with a can-do attitude to join our talented team!

Essential Functions:

This role will be part of a team developing and deploying our client's IIOT platforms, analytic and machine learning applications, and augmented reality experiences.  The Senior Business Consultant will help expand and define our business consulting practice by developing standard approaches, mentoring colleagues, directly guiding and ensuring projects meet business value objectives from concept discovery through deployment.  The Senior Business Consultant will also ensure solutions incorporate broader future business concepts to expand the customer's value realization and identify roadmaps for solution expansion.  The role will support presales through delivery across our three centers of excellence: IIOT, Mixed Reality, and Advanced Analytics.

The role will need to empathetically and persistently meet with users and stakeholders to gather business requirements and ensure these are validated in design decisions.  This role requires close collaboration with architects, UX designers, developers, solution consultants, and business management teams to ensure concept meets functionality and will successfully meet the identified business value objectives.  Travel is expected but will be variable based on current business needs and customer engagements.

Functional:

  • Experienced in customer facing business analysis by outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions in manufacturing operations.
  • Subject matter expertise or significant experience advising/managing one or more of the following disciplines in manufacturing: energy management, asset management, or equipment reliability and maintenance.
  • Skilled in operational loss analysis and quantifying the business value for analytic solution use cases.
  • Ability to collect information about a client's business through a variety of methods (interviews, shadowing, surveys, report review, etc.)
  • Experience in developing standards, templates, tools, and documentation guidelines with high quality of professionalism and consultative approach
  • Understand and provide advocacy for the client's change agent by qualifying and quantifying business objectives and how they can be realized by the client.
  • Understand, translate, and communicate business key objectives, metrics and KPIs that drive behavior and create success.
  • Translate business stakeholder needs and objectives for detailed requirements for technology projects.
  • Conduct market research to identify business opportunities and monitor portfolio performance, presenting findings to clients.
  • Perform analysis of client data to develop and partner with experience designer to present prototypes and solutions to clients

  • Support Business Development teams in pre-sales, cross selling products and services to clients.
  • Displays strong teamwork, client service, and organizational skills
  • Creates and presents solutions to clients at multiple levels
  • Uses open and appropriate means of communication with management, stakeholders and peers on work status, risks, issues, and opportunities

  • Uses creative and innovative approaches to deliver value to both clients and the company
  • Understands the RA product landscape, as well as emerging technologies, and educates resources on new and innovative business solutions for our clients
  • Understands and manages business complexity and project interdependencies
  • Consistently applies problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities for project success
  • Actively pursues personal continuous learning, development of skills and knowledge

Qualifications Required:

  • Proven experience in Manufacturing Operations, business consultation or equivalent
  • Knowledge of diverse business matters such as IT, Marketing, HR, etc.
  • Experience in group ideation and workshop facilitation
  • Familiarity with a wide selection of business management software (CRM, ERP, etc.) and databases 
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mind with excellent data collection and analysis skills
  • Experience with: 
    • Lean /Six Sigma
    • Agile methodologies 
    • Enterprise Design Thinking
    • CI/CD DevOps
  • Willing and able to travel and work at client sites. Travel can vary on assignment from 0% to 100% but an average of 40%. 

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Engineering (STEM), or equivalent experience
  • At least 5+ years of management or consulting experience with project management responsibilities
  •  Conversance with Factory Talk Innovation Suite Products (including ThingWorx, Vuforia, Factory Talk Analytics, Model Predictive Control)
  • Seeks out new responsibilities and stretch opportunities while demonstrating creativity in identifying better means of accomplishing a job.
  • Must be proactive, a confident communicator able to win trust and be a credible client advisor
  • Familiarity with:
    • Architecture for distributed or SaaS-based analytical solutions
    • Data storage technologies, big data stores, machine learning libraries, network, VMWare environments, and operating systems
    • Agile development methodologies and Human-Centered Design
    • Customers' solution development and value positioning
    • Opportunity management (presales through postdelivery support)
