Job Description
Responsible for planning, organization, staffing, controlling and directing daily and weekly operations of an area to meet department goals and production requirements. This includes coordinating activities with other areas or departments.
Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items. Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment. Examines, stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines. May prepare kitting packages for assembly production.
Essential Functions:
Ensure daily production requirements are met.
Schedule daily production/work assignments.
Work with production employees to ensure production problems are resolved and ensure proper documentation.
Utilize cost management techniques in daily operations.
Ensure that effective verbal and written communications are maintained with all necessary personnel, departments and shifts.
Coordinate training for (and/or train) production employees.
Take necessary actions to maintain quality standards and minimize scrap and rework.
Ensure annual personal objectives are met.
Resolve and document basic production-related employee problems, keep supervisor aware of Human Resources issues
Maintain job proficiency through on-going training.
Manage individual department productivity to meet department goals.
