Responsibilities: The Traffic Counts Seasonal Employee is responsible for collecting, both machine and manual, traffic counts; Driving the County-owned car to identified sites throughout York County; Producing tables and graphs of collected data; Entering traffic count data into ArcGIS online database, other assignments as time permits. Normal hours are 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM and will consist of 2–4 days per week (15-29.5 hours) from May through August.
The Traffic Counts seasonal employee reports to the Chief of the Transportation Division.
Qualifications: At a minimum, high school diploma or GED. A current driver’s license is required. Applicant should be comfortable driving to various locations in York County. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Applicant must also be able to lift up to 25 lbs.; Other physical activities include hammering concrete nails into pavement and moving traffic counter equipment.
