Position Objectives and Role Responsibilities:
The intern will work on 1 or more of the following analyses
A warehouse stock rotation study – object is first to identify all the stock in our warehouses by when it was produced and check if the inventory is reasonable for the production of the material. The second part would be to map this information over the shelf life data for the product and determine what should be done with the material that is in danger of being past its’ maximum shelf life and what can be done in the warehouses to avoid this from happening.
A study on the order entry freight charge – orders get moved on a daily basis from the normal servicing warehouse for a customer to a site that would allow the retailer to avoid any freight charge. The study would determine for 1 full day or orders (or more), exactly what was moved and exactly how much it cost the company to be moved. This would entail working with the warehouses to get actual shipping costs and producing a report to show what would happen if the freight charge was removed.
