Job Title: Sr. Tax Specialist

The Gannett Corporate Tax Department, located in Mclean, VA, serves the entire global organization.
We are currently seeking a Sr. Tax Specialist to assist the corporate tax department with the following responsibilities. This position reports to the Tax Director.


Responsibilities:

Prepare quarterly and annual tax provision schedules

Prepare annual state apportionment

Assist with managing outside vendor through the tax return compliance process, and complete first level review of tax returns, tax extensions, and quarterly estimated tax payments

Provide information to outside tax preparers for international filings and nonprofit tax returns

Assist in preparation of tax schedules and allocations

Respond to tax notices received from governmental entities

Complete income tax information and data collection/summarization actions

Complete other tax department projects, partnering with multiple department personnel

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

2+ years of corporate tax and tax accounting experience

BA/Accounting-related degree required, Masters degree in Taxation or related field preferred

CPA or CPA candidate preferred

Experience with Onesource Income Tax and Tax Provision Software preferred

Strong understanding of Microsoft Office platform

Strong understanding of tax software workflow

Self-motivated, team player/collaborative

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to document

Great interpersonal communication skills

Strong problem solving and organizational skills
