Senior Business Intelligence Analyst


Job Summary:

ReachLocal, a division of Gannett, is adding a member to our Business Intelligence team. Past projects taken on by this multi-functional team include

Creating detailed models of client retention to reduce client churn

Developing tools used by Operations to acquire and retain clients

Working with our product team to launch new products and to improve the performance of existing products

Crafting on-demand reports to showcase the key metrics driving trends around the world

Supporting the Finance Team and Executive Team in order to drive key initiatives and bottom-line performance

ReachLocal's BI team leverages our extensive database to drive success wherever possible, whether for our products, our employees, or our clients.


Job Skills & Responsibilities:

Create reports (primarily using MySQL) hosted in a SQL-connected online web portal for use by teams around the world

Develop and deliver Excel-based scorecards to support key initiatives, sales, and new products

Work with a world-class sales organization

Improve the performance of existing Media and Software products, including industry-leading Search and Facebook products

Monitor the release of new products and business strategies, providing data and advice to increase the chance of success for our clients and the company

Glean insights from a massive SQL data warehouse

Advise sales and operations leaders, including the Executive Team, on business strategy

Play a critical role in financial operations

Help our clients get maximum value for their dollar

Provide Operations with information and tools to increase their efficiency


Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a Business- or Analytics-related field

Minimum 4 years experience in a business intelligence, data analytics, finance, or consulting role

Strong MySQL query knowledge is a must

An exceptional command of Excel

The ability to effectively solve novel/vague issues by applying and defending reasonable, educated assumptions

High-level analysis and problem-solving skills

A good communicator who is adept at dealing with a variety of audiences

An eager, fast learner

Strong grasp of math and statistics

A strong business strategy or financial analysis background will be highly regarded but is not required
