Job Title: Account Clerk I
SALARY RANGE: $21.63 - $22.59 (Depending upon Qualifications & Experience)
(180 Day Probationary Period)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Department Administrator performs various secretarial duties, and handles materials of a sensitive or confidential nature. Provides backup support for Account Clerk II duties. Acts in a fiduciary capacity.
QUALIFICATIONS & ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES: (Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed below. Examples of acceptable qualifications for this classification follow.)
Completion or high school or GED supplemented by courses in business, accounting, timekeeping, finance, secretarial, or related studies. A minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated relevant experience. Superior computer skills including Microsoft Office products. Valid State of Ohio driver’s license. Verifies, receives, and pays invoices, prepares purchase requests, orders and distributes office supplies, maintains office supplies and facility inventories. Prepares and types correspondence, reports, agendas, legal documents including resolutions and agreements. Transcribes and types minutes of meetings and public hearings, types letters, reports, invoices and other related documents. Responsible for confidential correspondence and documents including personnel records. Performs various routine clerical tasks, such as: opening, dating, stamping and distributing mail; conducts research; prepares and maintains files, records and reports, including billings and financial reports; verifies expenditures. Documents and verifies employees’ leave requests (sick, vacation, etc.) and coordinates information with Account Clerk II for payroll purposes. Maintains personnel files and provides information as requested; processes payroll and journal entries as necessary. Verifies daily receipts and prepares pay-ins when necessary. Manages and maintains office equipment, related contracts, and inventories including copy machine(s) and supplies, mail equipment, furnishings, and other related office equipment. Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors; takes messages, refers callers for Management Staff. Schedules appointments, prepare for and attends meetings. Performs other related duties as required.
