Senior Community Development Planner

The Stark County Regional Planning Commission is accepting applications for the full-time position of Senior Community Development Planner. This is a professional position in the Community Development Department responsible for preparing major work elements of the agency’s federally funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME programs and other federal, state and local programs. This employee will carry out other community development and administrative items such as property acquisition, building rehab and demolition, contract administration and real estate activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for activities, included but not limited to, prevailing wages, environmental reviews, consolidated plan, Consolidate Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER), and Section 3. Work will include the undertaking of: project proposal review, annual application, reporting requirements, project implementation and oversight, program monitoring and record keeping. Ability to follow complex procedures and to accurately compile, check and present data and information. Performs research, survey work and other activities as required.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban/regional planning or related field. A minimum of three (3) years professional experience in the area of Community Development in HUD related programs required. An equivalent level of planning experience and graduate-level course work may be substituted for professional work experience.

Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000.
