Candidates must possess a PhD or equivalent degree in a neuroscience-related discipline awarded by the time of hire. In addition, candidates must have: -An active and productive research program in neural engineering -Expertise in brain-machine interfaces to restore movements and speech -Record of research creativity, independence and productivity across both fundamental neuroscience and translational engineering for restoring lost function -Experience conducting neural engineering and neuroscience research as part of a clinical trial -Record of obtaining, or the potential to obtain, extramural funding -Demonstrated potential or experience with mentoring undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral scholars from a diverse student population, including a commitment to foster diversity, equity and inclusion -Excellent potential for interactions and collaborations with existing faculty in the UC Davis School of Medicine the Center for Neuroscience, and School or Engineering
