Building Technician II, under the direction of the General Manager, works to help the Building Services Department meet operational and budget objectives. Assists with the installation of all building equipment and performs general building & equipment maintenance and repairs. Follows preventative maintenance plans for all building related equipment. Assists with maintaining, updating, and complying with all required OSHA and environmental records and programs. Participates in all mandatory annual refresher training for safety and environmental compliance.


A high school diploma or equivalent is required with five years of related experience preferred. Vocational courses in equipment maintenance preferred with five years of experience in building facility environment desirable.


1. General knowledge of electricity is mandatory.

2. General knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, heating/cooling systems, painting, and mechanics.

3. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to perform repairs on a variety of equipment.

4. Ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate the departments work and effectively communicate with staff.

5. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and organize workload.

6. Ability to operate forklift and clamp truck is required.

7. Must be computer / technology literate.


Must have a good driving record, valid drivers license, and provide proof of and maintain the minimum auto liability insurance required by state law. Must be able to do moderate to strenuous physical tasks including heavy lifting. Basic computer skills to include word processing and Excel.


  1. When grinding, buffing,
    or cutting metals or other materials, safety glasses or a face shield is
  2. Proper PPE is required
    when using equipment, hand tools and solvents or other hazardous liquids.


  1. Perform daily tasks
    assigned by the General Manager
  2. Operate
    forklift and clamp truck to load and unload trucks and move material
    between warehouse and main facility
  3. Evaluate, repair and
    maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems in the building
  4. Communicate with General
    Manager about any work that requires outside expert assistance
  5. Perform exterior
    maintenance to the facility including lawn, landscape, and snow removal as
  6. Work with tools and
    supplies necessary to complete projects
  7. Assist maintaining
    corporate safety procedures at all times and comply with access control
  8. Evacuate building in the
    event of an emergency
  9. Maintain fire, carbon
    monoxide, smoke and other safety systems within the structure
  10. Calibrate instruments and
    tools required for job responsibilities
