ACCESS CLINICIAN– Goochland Powhatan Community Services is seeking a Full Time Access Clinician.
GPCS has 2 clinics located in Goochland and Powhatan counties which are open Monday-Friday 8am4:30p. Both clinics are conveniently located 15 minutes west from Route 288 exits. We’re not that far!
It’s a lovely drive with almost no traffic, free parking at both our buildings, and excellent eateries

This position is a great opportunity for those who like a variety of work. We are a small but mighty team,
and the Access Clinician is an integral member of the Access Unit. The Access Clinician’s primary
responsibility will be conducting Same Day Access assessments. This includes triage, diagnostic and
needs assessment, risk assessment, program assignment, and initial treatment planning. As Emergency
Services is also part of this unit, the Access Clinician may provide back up coverage, as needed.
Additionally, the Access Clinician may carry a small caseload of consumers for brief therapy.

We are seeking someone with experience working with individuals with mental health, substance use,
and/or developmental disability. Clinicals skills required include a thorough working knowledge of the
DSM criteria, diagnostic and needs assessment, safety planning, crisis intervention. Other skills and
abilities include excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills, proficient
computer skills, including documentation in an electronic health record; and the ability to make
independent decisions with minimal supervision. We currently use Credible for our EHR, as well as
Microsoft office suite.

Master’s Degree in human services field and License or License Eligible required.

Starting salary is $41,122 based on education and experience. GPCS offers an excellent benefits
package, including an option for free insurance for the employee and participation in the Virginia
Retirement System.
