Description: The Gannett FP&A team is seeking an application analyst (2-5 years of experience) to provide functional, technical and end-user support for its financial planning, reporting and consolidations system (SAP BPC).Along with the project manager, the individual will work closely with the Corporate Finance department and assist in our monthly financial close and planning processes.The position will deliver technical solutions to division units and managers, equipping them with the necessary analysis and reporting tools to implement our strategic goals. Other duties include, but are not limited to, supporting internally developed applications, report development and maintenance, end-user training, interacting with vendor support and assisting the project manager with other pertinent initiatives as needed.The ideal candidate will have a startup mentality, a desire to improve efficiency, and will enjoy sharing their experience and knowledge with others.This position is based at Gannett Headquarters in McLean, VA.
Responsibilities:
Provide support for our monthly forecasting and financial close processes
Provide maintenance and technical support for the BPC system such as: software updates, dimension changes, script logic modifications, SSIS package maintenance, and report development
Develop and deliver innovative BPC solutions to address customer needs and improved business efficiency
Extract, transfer and load data between financial systems
Assist in routine audit and data integrity validations
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision and solve complex technical problems
Breakdown and explain technical concepts to non-technical users and assist in end-user training
Preferred Technical Skills:
Experience with SAP BPC or similar financial reporting applications
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel 2016 or later (VBA experience a plus)
Experience with database management tools such as MS SQL Server
Previous programming knowledge in SSIS, .NET or other
Financial or Accounting experience is a plus
