Pipefitters Local Union #274 Education Fund, 75 Apprenticeship Applications available.

1st come 1st served MAY 3-14, Monday-Friday 8AM-12PM

Applications filled out in person at Local 274 Training Center

Requirements:

Minimum 18 yrs old with copies in hand of H.S. Diploma or GED, H.S. Transcripts or GED scores.
Valid driver’s license with photo, 3 letters of character ref. and any one of the following: Social Security Card, US Passport, US Birth Certificate.
LU 274 EDU FUND does not discriminate on basis of age, gender, race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin in the administration of it’s EDU policies and school administered programs.
Applicants required to wear face mask/covering and practice social distancing.

ALL COMPLETED APPLICATIONS must be returned to this location at the Training Center Entrance in person between 8AM and 12PM or by mail, on or before May 14, 2021. No applications will be accepted for return after this date.

All applicants will be required to pass an aptitude test.  There will be a $70.00 test fee for the Aptitude Test.  All successful applicants will then be required to pass a physical exam and drug test as prescribed by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee of Pipefitters Local 274.  The cost of the drug test will be the responsibility of the applicant.

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL BE NEEDED TO CONSTITUTE A “COMPLETED APPLICATION”.

Copy of your Birth Certificate
Copy of your High School Diploma or GED
Copy of your High School Transcripts or GED Scores
Copy of your valid Driver’s License with a picture
Three (3) letters of Character References

PARKING WILL BE IN THE SOUTH LOT BY THE LOADING DOCK OR THE WEST LOT, NOT IN FRONT OF THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT MAIN ENTRANCE!!!!!!!

Work Keys Tests: Applicants will be required to complete the Work Keys Test which examines the skill level for Applied mathematics and Work Place Documents. Practice Exams can be found at: WWW.act.org/workkeys

Pipefitters Local 274 has been in existence since July 20, 1901.

Local 274 started out in Jersey City, NJ. In 1970 Local 274 was relocated to Ridgefield, NJ. And on August 1st, 2014, we relocated to 205 Jefferson Rd. Parsippany, NJ. Our territory encompasses the counties of Hudson, Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and parts of Warren.

The United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters and Sprinkler Fitters prides itself on its' training programs. Pipefitters Local 274 is no different.

We are one of four United Association Welder Certification facilities for the state of New Jersey. Our welder certification program is recognized by not only the Mechanical Contractors Association but by leaders of the industry. By providing welders pre-certified, we help to keep a project on time and within the budget.

The training facility at Local 274 is capable of adapting to any type of changing technology, whether medical gas certification, plastic fusion for gas distribution or heating and cooling application. We are prepared to meet any such challenge.

Our full-time instructors are constantly upgrading their skills in order to teach our apprentices and journeymen what is needed to keep our membership ahead of the competition.
