The Lansing State Journal, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is hiring an enterprise reporter to cover a broad array of issues in central Michigan. This job needs a highly motivated individual with the versatility to juggle daily and longer-term work. Applicants should be adept using digital reporting tools, knowledgeable about accessing public records and able to analyze data to strengthen reporting. Video skills are a must. Our reporters use social media and to connect with audiences and engage with the community.

Heres what you need:

• Bachelors degree in journalism or equivalent
• At least three years of daily journalism experience.
• Ability to write clear, compelling articles that engage our audience and to enhance your work with video and other digital storytelling tools as appropriate.
• Understanding of social media and how to engage audience on digital platforms.
• Ability to multi-task and excel under deadline pressure, using time efficiently in a 24-hour newsroom.
• Skill at collaborating in a cross-functional environment and adapting in a rapidly changing industry.
• This job includes some evening and weekend work.

The Lansing State Journal serves Michigans dynamic state capital market. Large employers include Michigan State University, two General Motors assembly plants, and large health care and insurance sectors.
