The Special Projects Group (SPG) is seeking a gear analyst. This person will be responsible for initial gear sizing, detailed analysis, and technical support through volume production. Their primary responsibility will include detailed gear design and analysis, including contact, pitting, and bending fatigue. In addition, this person will work closely with integration, CAE, and reliability engineers to achieve a balanced system level design.

Key Qualifications

  • Must have involute spur gear detailed design experience
  • Must have gear design experience where efficiency is paramount
  • Must have high volume gear design for manufacturability experience
  • Experience with gear alloys, heat treatments, and associated properties
  • Experience generating clear, manufacturable part drawings, and communicating requirements to vendors
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative team environment, and being self-motivated to drive issues and designs to close
  • Ability to articulate and defend design decisions in a data driven environment
  • Comfort and flexibility working in a quickly changing environment
  • Experience with high volume gear manufacturing processes and equipment is highly preferred

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years gear design experience Post graduate gear analysis focus preferred
