The Core OS Power Management Software team is looking for an exceptional software engineer to design and implement wireless charging software and firmware for the next generation iPhone, Apple Watch, and more. We believe the future is Wireless. New challenges arise every day that require the sharp problem-solving skills of talented & smart individuals. You will be required to explore novel system power and battery management software algorithms and ship them into our products. The influence of the proposed innovations will span across system architecture, hardware, kernel drivers, firmware, and global system behavior, striving to satisfy both word class system performance and power delivery constraints at the same time.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience in writing complex kernel drivers and embedded firmware
  • Passionate about new technology bring-up with hardware/software dependencies
  • Demonstrated innovative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Hands on experience with micro-controller development
  • Experience with wireless charging standards such as Qi (WPC) or PMA
  • Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
  • Excellent collaborative skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of C and C++


Work cross-functionally with system architects, electrical engineers, battery engineers and system software Invent new wireless charging algorithms, implement and optimize system software and embedded firmware for productization Influence hardware design specifications of future platforms to deliver a roadmap of innovative software solutions to very challenging system problems Demonstrate and explain cross functionally system power/performance trade-offs

Education & Experience

B.S., M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements

  • Proven track record leading new technology development with hardware/software dependencies
  • Comfortable reading schematics and working with logic analyzers and/or oscilloscopes
  • Knowledge of computer and/or smartphone system architectures
  • Familiarity with modern power management techniques Knowledge of battery management algorithms
  • Knowledge of control system theory
  • Experience with IOKit drivers on macOS or iOS
