We are seeking an upbeat and hardworking SI engineer to play a meaningful role in the definition, design and validation of Apple next generation standard server and storage server platforms. As a key member of our hardware team, you will have the outstanding and meaningful opportunity to participate in the design and execution of all SI related topics, with the goal of crafting ground breaking customized platforms that fit within Apples future application and datacenter environments. These platforms are the bedrock of the infrastructure services that will delight and encourage millions of Apple's customers every day!
- 8+ years of PCB related SI experience
- Experience performing SI simulations using industry recognized tools
- Experience in VNA measurement techniques
- Experience tuning high speed buses for optimal margin
- Ability to lead multiple work-streams and priorities
- Experience working with outsourced ODM/OEMs in designing a product
You will have input throughout the entire development and production of multiple server products. This includes participating in PCB material and stack-up definition (working with PCB suppliers), performing PCB and full channel SI simulations, guide/review schematics and layouts, selecting/defining high speed connectors/cables, crafting and executing the SI validation plan, correlating simulation and validation results, and periodically sampling PCBs for continued compliance. Additionally, this engineer will maintain familiarity with industry technology and trends, assessing areas that could be intercepted into future designs. During the full life cycle of the product, this engineer with be the electrical HW point of contact for SI issues; debug and root cause analysis, which may involve working with multiple outside suppliers.
Education & Experience
BS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Travel will be required as needed. This position is in Austin, Texas.
