Role Purpose:

The Sr Data Engineer (ETL) position will lead development teams to design, develop, and deliver reliable/scalable data integration components using ETL integration platforms, enterprise job scheduling tools, and the Microsoft Azure stack.  Use of an agile framework and DevOps methodologies will be leveraged to fulfill development activities. This role within DA&I will provide the needed technical services to provide and support Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data capabilities within the DA&I ecosystem.

The Sr. Data Engineer (ETL) is multi-skilled engineer who helps to estimate work, accept stories into delivery increments and completes tasks to deliver the work in conjunction with other development team members. Is proficient in data analysis, profiling, integration, modelling, and data quality techniques. Has expertise in data management technologies such as SAP Data Services, Azure ADF, ADLS, Databricks, SQL DB, Open source data management tools or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designs, codes, and tests data management ETL solutions in conjunction with development team members, including supporting applications and interfaces.
  • Enables data pipelines through use of enterprise job scheduling tools
  • Supports cross-functional development activity in conjunction with other integration technology resources
  • Provides platform support and facilitates component upgrades
  • Develops and tests infrastructure components in Cloud and Edge-level environments
  • Proactively monitors industry trends and identifies opportunities to implement new technologies
  • Manages the DevOps pipeline deployment model
  • Enables automated testing procedures
  • Implements software in all environments
  • Leverages containerization models and works with other engineers and architects to keep the architecture current
  • Assists in the support and enhancement of applications
  • Leads development team to produce high-quality code compliant with regulations
  • Collaborates with business systems analysts and product owners to define requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems, or related field

  • Experience in systems development lifecycle
  • Experience in Data management concepts and implementations
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and system/process documentation
  • Experience with server-side architectures and containerization
  • Experience with SAP Data Services, Azure ADF, ADLS, SQL, Tabular models, or other domain-specific programming languages
  • Experience with enterprise job scheduling tools (Control-M)
  • Familiarity with business concepts and impact of data on business processes
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking abilities
