The News Star/thenewsstar.com, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is looking for a reporter who creative, curious, persistent and loves people.

This reporter will be adept at creating relationships that will allow them to produce interesting news stories that the community will want to read. To accomplish this, our reporter will need sound news judgement, great storytelling skills and discernment. We want this reporter to dig deeper into trends, public issues and enterprise stories associated with both business and childrens issues.

Business news will include stories that tell the community about openings and closings in the area, employment opportunities as well as economic trends. Childrens issues can be widely interpreted to include all issues that impact families. This job is about city growth, social change and political nuance. Its telling stories about how we live and the decisions that impact how we live.

Its for someone who isnt afraid of the biggest story of the day, the month, the year, and sticking with it, following through on news tips and developing the best multi-sourced story possible.
