USA TODAY is looking for a Planning Editor to join our Planning team, working with editors in newsrooms across the USA TODAY Network.
Purpose: Planners ensure that stories are delivered in the way that best fits the audience across the various platformsboth current and emerging. They are the architects of overall publication plans of our newsrooms journalism to maximize audience growth and loyalty.
Responsibilities: In concert with newsroom leadership, planners are responsible for managing:
Multiplatform calendars and plans that reflect tactics based on our audience strategies to deliver maximum impact for our newsrooms content.
Partnering with centralized teams that execute plans across the network the Digital Optimization Team and the Design Center as well as other newsroom specialists. The bulk of planning is focused on digital journalism, though print needs play a critical role in helping ensure quality in all products.
