Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for a Traffic Coordinator in the Traffic Engineering section. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting wage range of $23.74 - $27.29 per hour, DOQ. Primary Responsibilities: · The Traffic Coordinator is responsible for supervision and coordination of traffic data collection, temporary traffic control plan review, special event permits, sight obstructions, striping layouts, traffic field investigations and observations. · Under direction of the supervisor, the Traffic Coordinator will supervise and coordinate the activities of the Traffic Analysts and Technicians on the Traffic Engineering team.
Qualifications: · Requires strong communication skills (both verbal and written), coupled with the ability to work as a liaison between the Traffic Engineering staff, other departments, and with the public. · The successful candidate must have considerable knowledge of the MUTCD, temporary traffic control requirements within a work zone, and plan design and traffic control review. · Working knowledge of ADA and other accessibility regulations, engineering principles and practices, techniques used in collecting data on traffic volume and speed, traffic hazards and calming devices. · Must have the ability to supervisor and train others in methods and techniques in a specialized industry. · Requires a valid Idaho Driver’s License and the ability to obtain TCT and TCS certifications within 1-year. · Experience in practical engineering work; supervisory training, supplemented by college level courses in science, math, or civil engineering. OR Any combination of education and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is acceptable.
