Instructional Assistant (Paraprofessional) 2021-2022
SUMMARY: Report directly to the building principal or his/her designee. Assists with appropriate classroom activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with instructional programs and general school operations.
Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
Conducts learning exercises with small groups of children.
Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children.
Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual children.
Provides escorts assistance for children as necessary.
Helps maintain informal student performance records.
Assists teacher(s) in maintaining student work and study areas.
Assists with the supervision of children during play periods.
Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum of 60 college credit credits. Bachelors Degree preferred. (Emphasis on teaching)
Must be able to obtain Substitute Certificate
Ability and personality to work with colleagues, teachers, and other staff.
Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Year: 9 Month
Salary: Paraprofessional Range on the District Paraprofessional Salary Schedule - $15.09/hr
Primary Location District Wide
Salary Range $15.09 / Per Hour
