Port to Port is seeking a qualified Bilingual (English & Spanish) Accounting Manager / Full Charge Bookkeeper for its New Castle, Delaware Location.

We have a customized Booking and Inventory software to track shipment of freights worldwide in conjunction with QuickBooks Pro.

A large volume of transactions are handled with many various, detailed transaction types. Position reports directly to the President.

Job Description:

The Accounting Manager / Full Charge Bookkeeper will be in charge of directing and participating in the daily activities of 4 Accounting Staff in the Delaware Accounting Department to accurately record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the 2 US company locations and Port to Port affiliate companies in Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador and India. He/she will supervise and direct client and vendor alliances in the US and Central America and establish a cordial relationship with them. He/She will be in charge of all accounting functions worldwide including physical audits in all Port to Port Central American offices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains general ledger accounts by monitoring account preparation. Summarizes financial status by analyzing general ledger accounts; compiling and submitting financial statements weekly and monthly; preparing special reports.

Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls; pays employees by calculating pay; distributing checks; maintaining records. Assist with other projects and other duties assigned.

This role of the manager of accounting requires establishing and preserving accounting standards to ensure error-free and prompt generation of financial statements.

He/she is required to maintain stringent deadlines in organizing ledgers and financial reports.

He/She will supervise other accounts personnel and manage the unit to ensure timely completion of assigned duties with precision.

Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) / Bachelor of Arts, or Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Business Management or any other finance related discipline / Data-entry skills and computer proficiency with MS applications & QB Pro.

Three to five years supervisory experience working in the field of accounting in a for profit company / Experience in a logistics company is a plus / Prior experience of accounting standards and practices including intensive work and experience in A/P, A/R, Collections, Cost Analysis, Forecasting, Budgets and Breakeven Point Analysis.

Adequate knowledge of financial operations and capital budget concepts / Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports / Exceptional familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word / Remarkable skills in organizing budgets, statements of finances, payroll and expenditures.

Must be extremely accurate, have accounting and financial skills, reporting results, deadline-oriented, supervision, good communication skills, aggressive self-starter, detail oriented and dependable.
