The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch, Facilities Unit is seeking a Program Manager I to prepare architectural designs and project specification documents for various types of building design projects including estimating project costs; managing projects from pre-design, construction and completion including coordination with on-site staff to minimize disruption of court operations.
The preferred candidate will possess considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of architectural design and the design aspects of building modification and construction; skilled in the preparation of AutoCAD; drawings and specifications; skilled in the use of Microsoft Project and Excel, skilled in space planning and design; knowledge of building materials and components; knowledge of state and local building codes; knowledge in ADA codes; interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills; considerable ability to design, prepare details, and write specifications for various types of buildings; ability to estimate project costs.
Preference will be given to those who hold a four (4) year Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design with minimum of five (5) years of experience in the preparation of architectural designs and project specification documents for various types of building design projects.
Starting Salary $85,421 – plus State of Connecticut benefits.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience: Nine years of professional experience in a broad range of functions related to assigned areas, including some responsibility for planning, research and statistical analysis, organizational analysis, or a related field.
Substitutions Allowed: 1. College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours equaling one-half year of experience to a maximum of four years for a Bachelor’s degree. 2. A law degree or a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one additional year of the General Experience.
Special Requirements: Incumbents may be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
