Taylor Hardin Secure Medical Facility in Tuscaloosa is offering the following career opportunities:

All opportunities are State jobs with State benefits: longevity bonus annually after 5 years of employment; very low-cost insurance; defined retirement benefit (not impacted by economic downturns); 12 paid holidays; 1 personal leave day accrued each January; 13 sick leave days and 13 annual leave days accrued in the first year of employment.

Currently have vacancies on all shifts for all positions below. Overtime required. Weekend and holiday work required on rotational basis. Employees required to work a holiday will accrue that day for later use. Preemployment background check and drug screen required. 

Registered Nurse I: Salary Range $52,653.60 - $69,014.40 annually (+ 2% cost of living increase will go into effect October 1, 2021). Earning potential can increase based on overtime hours worked. Probationary increase at 6 months and time-in class promotion 12 months later with another 6 month probationary increase to follow. (Potential 20% salary increase during first 24 months of employment); annual increases after that. Other promotional opportunities on an open-competitive basis.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing or graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Nursing. Possession of a certificate of registration to practice nursing as issued by the Alabama Board of Nursing. 

LPN I: Salary Range $34,761.60 - $45,532.80 annually (+ 2% cost of living increase will go into effect October 1, 2021). Earning potential can increase based on overtime hours worked. Probationary increase after 6 months. Annual increases after that. Promotional opportunities available.

Qualifications: Standard High School graduation, and graduation from a state-approved school of practical nurse education. Possession of a certificate of registration as a Practical Nurse issued by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
