Gannett/ USA TODAY NETWORK is seeking a Social Media Marketing Manager to join the Brand and Network Marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly developing content marketing discipline within the team. This new role will be responsible for the development of social strategies and execution of social-first, content marketing campaigns across our portfolio of brands.

The ideal candidate should possess a passion and knowledge of the social media landscape, how to play to their strengths and culture to drive consumption of our high impact journalism to drive new audience demand on across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, etc.

This position will report to the Director, Content Marketing | Brand and Network Marketing.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help shape the content marketing strategies to drive new audience demand through social platforms
  • Work with internal stakeholders (creative, content strategists, extended marketing team) to identify and amplify priority content
  • Lead and develop social media marketing plans and execution
  • Partner with Content Marketing Manager to drive end-to-end campaign orchestration
  • Collaborate with creative team to develop, deploy and optimize creative aesthetic for social landscape which includes relevant, engaging and compelling assets and copy for each platform to optimize performance
  • Partner with newsroom social teams to create synergies between paid and organic content promotion to maximize reach
  • Innovate new ways to execute, test and learn to build new audiences on emerging platforms
  • Partner with business intelligence team to develop tracking, tools and measurement methodologies to interpret and analyze data to make strategic and tactical recommendations

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of social media experience in a brand or agency
  • A strong understanding and working knowledge of social channels best practices and how each platform can be used most efficiently to drive results
  • Experience with social content creation and execution with a focus on brand-building initiatives
  • Demonstrated social copy writing skills
  • Passionate about finding new solutions and platforms to drive audience growth
  • Management of paid social media budgets, timelines and social calendars
  • Creativity with entrepreneurial spirit that encompasses a test and learn mindset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, very collaborative environment
  • Brand/Marketing Agency or technology growth company experience is a strong plus
  • Hungry, proactive, roll sleeves up workstyle
  • A general love for social media
