Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Senior Solutions Consultant is to lead the front-end of business development and proposal opportunities within the Tire and Rubber Team of the systems and solutions business. This includes marketing products, services, and solutions, as well as managing the proposal development, and customer and sales contacts required to obtain planned level of incoming business. The position combines elements of Sales, Marketing and Engineering. This person is responsible for being the liaison and technical expert to support appropriate market channels, generate proposals and lead and support customer visits.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop business through contacting customers at appropriate management levels in the pursuit of systems and solutions business and maintaining present customers and customer base.
  • Collaborate with sales, proposals, contracts, engineering and project management team to establish a value proposition, competitive positioning, and pricing strategies to maximize revenue and gross margin dollars while minimizing risk based on scope identification of system requirements in solicitation documents.
  • Establish contractual risk mitigation strategies by performing risk analysis working closely with Contracts and Negotiations. Assure proper definition and delimitation of scope of work is properly stated within released proposal documentation.
  • Have a good understanding of Tire and Rubber industry specific applications, engineering principles, how to apply them including knowledge of RA software, architectures, processors, drives, industrial control and relative safety standards.


  • Create and present solutions to customers at multiple levels.
  • Responsible for following all company DOA policies and procedures. An understanding of the proposal process, and the skills associated with proposal management, procedures and generation (iPE procedures, QuoteBuilder tools, writing, costing, margin, Terms and Conditions, and the like).
  • Make appropriate and timely decisions based on current information and ensure adherence to company policy relating to delegation authority.


  • Communications with project teams to ensure that they have all the information required to successfully implement projects.
  • Interface and provide direct input with other RA product groups such that the corporate marketing goals are united.
  • Understands the RA product landscape, as well as emerging technologies, and educate resources on new and innovative business solutions for our customers.


  • Develop, jointly with Marketing Management, strategies that align with specific vertical sales activities.
  • Search for ways to deliver additional value and better support to customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or technology related.
  • Must be able and willing to travel up to 25% to work at customer sites.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in proposal development and direct customer relations.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience in a customer-facing position, business development or sales role where you have direct sales facing interaction with customers and suppliers.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience working with specific applications in the Tire and Rubber market.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience with system design preferably with experience related to RA products, solutions and services and Connected Enterprise messaging.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience in a customer-facing position, business development or sales role where you have direct sales facing interaction with customers and suppliers.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience with marketing solutions, products, and/or services to customers.
  • Minimum of 8 years related experience with multiple applications in industry.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years previous experience with solution development preferably with experience related to AC/DC drives applications, control systems, process automation, application software development, custom hardware system development, or custom software application development.
  • Prior experience in industrial automation.
  • Previous experience with Bridgestone, Firestone, Goodyear, Michelin and similar customers.
  • Experience with proposals development and direct customer relations.
  • Related experience working with specific application expertise in areas such as Component Prep, Material Handling, Mixing and the like.
  • Prior experience with Rockwell Automation products, solutions and services.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience with SSB proposal development systems (IFS, QuoteBuilder, ProMS).

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor.

The base salary compensation range for this role in Colorado is $91,760 - $141,000 with an annual target bonus of 5% to 8% of base salary.
