Job Description: 

Q.E.D. Systems, Inc., an established marine engineering, planning, and ship modernization firm, is seeking a Planner/Scheduler for Va. Beach, VA location. Candidate will: create, maintain and integrate project schedules for all Prime Contract/Subcontract work; create and maintain schedules throughout various projects and submit weekly updates; work closely with Project Management to de-conflict and manage schedules; provide impact analysis of schedule changes, identify schedule variances and opportunities and proactively develop mitigation strategies for the Project Management team. May be required to attend daily integration meetings and provide updates to the project schedule with the customer. Develop and maintain schedule plans that are compliant with industry, NAVSEA Standard Item and NAVSEA Technical Specification (TS) 9090-310G quality standards.

Job Requirements / Skill Sets:

Previous experience with US Naval ship repair is highly preferred. Familiarity with MS Office Suite applications. Must be proficient in MS PROJECT with relevant experience in scheduling, managing tasks, managing timelines, measuring progress and generating reports. Requires organizational and communication skills and the ability to work directly with the customer. Must be able to board ships, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down ladders. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors under all weather conditions. Must be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment.

Candidate should have at least five (5) years’ experience in shipboard industrial work using specifications and related drawings, have HM&E experience and be familiar with NAVSAEA Standard Items. The candidate must maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Education:

The candidate must be a high school graduate or hold a GED. Candidate shall also have at least two (2) years of education in a technical/vocational school, apprentice training, or equivalent.

Security Clearance: Candidate will currently possess or be eligible for a government security clearance and DBIDS access.
