Social media drives this beat reporter as they monitor top platforms and channels. This reporter pounces on trending topics, bringing home the local, regional or statewide aspects of such stories. These stories are what the Facebook, Twitter and other crowds are talking about. The ideal candidate will be able to produce an entire package story, photos, video, etc., when needed or tell the story on whichever platform fits. This journalist will use analytics, search engine optimization and other tools to really understand and target the right audiences. Reporter also has watchdog/in-depth ideas to pursue.
