Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for direction the functions, development, and implementation of quality assurance programs within Homeshield. Working under general supervision, is responsible for quality assurance training, implementation of standards, maintaining Q.A. related statistics, conducting audits and supervising Q.A. personnel. Works closely with customers and suppliers to ensure the reliability of products and conformance to customer requirements.
Works with operations, manufacturing and product engineering, suppliers, and customers to develop quality standards and specifications that can be economically maintained to ensure product acceptability.
Directs operator and statistical process control programs to ensure total manufacturing process feasibility.
Prepare reports, budget requests, gauge needs, equipment needs, maintenance work orders, employee requisitions, purchase requisitions, and other required information.
Act as the primary liaison between customers and Homeshield on quality-related issues.
Design, develop and implement a capability analysis plan for all pieces of equipment within the plant.
Convert product drawing specifications into meaningful inspection methods. Develop process drawings and specifications as required.
Hire, train, evaluate performance, discipline, communicate with and develop subordinates.
Provide input on hiring new employees. Assist in interviewing qualified applicants referred by the Human Resources Department.
React to operator concerns, involve production supervisors, initiate and follow through problem solving procedures.
Prepare written responses to customer quality notifications. Visit customer on a routine basis to resolve quality issues and check on the performances of Homeshield products on the production floor.
Supervise tolerance studies and tests to confirm performance criteria.
Assure that all blueprints, specifications, procedures and gauges are available, up to date, accurate and being used correctly by auditors and operators.
Assure accuracy of quality documentation including hold tags, inspection reports, data collection, supplier inspection reports and test reports.
Assign work to employees and establish time schedules that assure timely completion. Establish and coordinate all necessary intra-departmental communicating during and between shifts.
Administer divisional training and certification process to ensure each individual within the manufacturing process is qualified for the position that they occupy.
Assures that all products and services conform to specified requirements.
Perform any and all inspection tasks in emergency, temporary absences, or other appropriate circumstances.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management
5-7 years related management in quality position within a manufacturing environment and/or
The equivalent combination of education and experience
