Sodexo is seeking a hands-on Executive Chef at Good Samaritan Medical Center, located in Lafayette, CO. Good Sam is an 300-bed acute care hospital where the Food and Nutrition team manages patient, retail dining, a physician's lounge and catering.

The Executive Chef will primarily work with the kitchen team to ensure quality and consistency to menu options for all food service operations. This position will train and monitor performance, be able to collaboratively build a team and support a changing retail environment. In this role, you will work alongside your team and cook on occasion. Salary range $70,000 - $80,000.

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Manage the food production process including production planning and controls for At Your Request (on-demand program) patient services and retail.
  • Develop and maintain excellent client and customer relationships with a front of the house presence;
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality and presentation;
  • Manage food costing, budget controls and compliance;
  • Ensure food sanitation compliance;
  • Develop menus and manage ordering and inventory;
  • Have high expectations for customer service;
  • Have the ability to develop and train frontline staff;
  • Provide a safe work environment;
  • Knowledge of Sodexo Systems is preferred, but not required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with culinary trends and wellness programs
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implement company policies
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to operational excellence standards
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities
  • A willingness to coach and develop staff, openness to change and attentive with a responsive communication style that will encourage success in this position.
  • strong computer skills and online ordering
  • high levels of proficiency with data analysis, Microsoft Office, menu planning & forecasting processes
  • understanding of safe food handling practices, qualities, and standards (e.g. HACCP forms, temperature logs, safety audits, inventory management).
