Sodexo is seeking an experienced leader for a Operations Manager 2 at UTMB Health Clear Lake Hospital located in Webster, TX. This position manage the Clear Lake Hospital as well as provide culinary and safety direction for 3 other units in the area. Residents of the Bay Area have access to more innovative adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatient care at the UTMB Health Clear Lake Campus, home to the university's newest hospital with the most advanced technology and state-of-the-art equipment. UTMB's system of care includes hospitals and emergency departments on four campuses, a network of primary and specialty care clinics, and urgent care services.

Primary Responsbilities:

  • Food cost and inventory controls
  • Responsible for identifying process improvement initiatives and overseeing implementation.
  • Ensures that employees demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation toward patients, visitors and hospital staff
  • Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Meets (or exceeds) Sodexo standards of operation
  • Creates a positive environment and successfully motivates and manages team.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implement company policies
  • Previous experience working in a high volume facility

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Key Duties

- Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

- Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

- Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

- Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
