Unit Description

Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Warehouse Manager for our 1883 Provision Co. at the University of Texas located in Austin, TX.

The University of Texas, home of the Texas Longhorns, was founded in 1883 and is located in the heart of downtown Austin. UT proudly supports more than 500 student-athletes in a successful and broad-based NCAA Division I intercollegiate program.

This position will focus primarily on the management of inventory and equipment for the entire Concessions Dept. This position requires exceptional concessions background in large stadium and arena settings and will be responsible for the oversight of all ordering, product storage, equipment logistics and maintenance as well as assisting with concessions game day operations.

The Food Service Warehouse Manager is a highly visible position and will be responsible for daily contact with the client facilities managers and vendors. May also work with Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs); managing volunteers to operate event day sales; cash handling, balancing end of shift reports; management of special events; HACCP/Sanitation and cost controls; ordering and stocking concession stands and carts with the proper counts and products; managing and maintaining inventory.

Success in the position is predicated on organization, planning and great communication skills. The ability to develop strong relationships is essential along with attention to detail and knowledge of unit finances.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Concessions experience with alcoholic beverage sales experience at large stadium/arena venues;
  • Strong financial skills and cash handling experience;
  • Strong understanding of and practical experience with HACCP;
  • Experience managing and developing a talented and diverse team of employees;
  • Ability to communicate and delegate effectively under pressure

Position Summary

Provides supervision for multi-functional food service areas at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit through the implementation of Sodexo programs while executing against Standard Operating Procedures.
Key Duties
- Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment
- Supervises day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards
- Utilizes Sodexo resources and programs to ensure operating standards and regulatory requirements are met and employees have the necessary equipment and inventory
- Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
