Description

The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a Food Services Assistant to prepare and serve meals according to menu plans; receive and store food and kitchen supplies; clean and assist in maintaining the kitchen, dining area, and equipment; operate kitchen equipment; observe strict compliance with federal and state regulations on safe and nutritious food preparation and service; perform related duties as required.

Starting Salary $47,599 – plus State of Connecticut benefits

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITYKnowledge of food preparation and service; knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures in food service; knowledge of federal and state regulations on nutrition and safety of food preparation and service; basic interpersonal skills; basic oral and written communication skills; basic computer skills.

 

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

General Experience: One (1) year of experience in food preparation in a commercial or institutional setting.

Special Requirements: Incumbents may be required to provide periodic medical verification of absence of infectious and communicable diseases as identified by the Secretary of Health and Human Services as transmittable through the handling of food.

Working Conditions:  Incumbents may be required to lift; may be exposed to some risk of injury from kitchen equipment.
