Description

DIRECTOR, COLLEGE FACILITIES This position is involved in the supervising and administration of the Facilities Department covering a wide variety of programs and operations essential to the function of the college. An employee in this position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing maintenance staff, custodial services, grounds, public safety, receiving and warehousing, equipment and building maintenance, and security and disaster planning. In addition, the Director, College Facilities, must project, plan and coordinate new construction, remodeling, and renovation work. Prepare and administer budgets based on planned capital outlay needs and emergent issues, maintain and operate a building energy management system controlling heating, cooling, lighting and ventilation equipment, provide appropriate training for staff, and disseminate time sensitive information on facilities related subjects to the College. Liaison with administrative staff, Facilities Department, faculty, and interact at all levels of the organization to identify needs and meet constantly shifting priorities. Duties involve exercising independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures. The Director is required to hold or acquire a Building Code Administrator license from the State of Florida. Bachelors degree in related field plus five years of experience in construction and maintenance work. At least five years supervisory experience at an assistant director or director level position. Have a good driving record and valid drivers license. Computer literate. Contracting experience, State licensure in a construction related area, State Licensed Contractor or Certified Design Professional desirable.
