Intake Coordinator- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

As an Intake Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for assisting in the coordination of short-term case management services for children's educational, therapeutic, medical, and placement needs in the respective program. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring the intake process is streamlined and clear to all involved, while working closely with all team members to ensure intake and discharge timelines are met. Additionally, this position will assist casework staff by aiding caseworkers in documentation, contact with youth, sponsors, and foster parents.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Intake worker on an on-going basis;
  • Address and field ORR related calls and coordinate placements in the shelter and/or foster homes across the transitional site locations;
  • Effectively track intakes and discharges for all transitional site locations;
  • Record and maintain accurate and up-to-date client records by way of a spreadsheet;
  • Keep staff up-to-date on upcoming intakes and discharges across all transitional program sites to ensure streamlined communication;
  • Assist with the coordination of travel arrangements for intakes and discharges, to include meet and greets with ICE and/or arranging transport companies for all sites;
  • Organize and attend arranged intakes for the local site during shift hours to ensure all staff, clients, and foster parents are apprised of the intake process to include but not limited to food ordering, up-to-date intake folders, client orientation, and overall welcoming atmosphere;
  • Coordinate and facilitate discharges;
  • Conduct case support tasks, such as background checks, address checks, filing, information input, case noting, call sponsors and coordinate information sharing, track court hearings, complete 30-day follow-up calls, and conduct exit interviews with youth;
  • Provide transportation for arrivals and intakes, as requested;
  • Meet with regularly with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work;
  • Attend trainings as requested by supervisor;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field of study from an accredited college;
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish with prior experience in child welfare services, preferred;
  • Prior work experience in cross-cultural settings;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative, and compassionate to meet the needs of traumatized children;
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Cultural Diversity Commitment.
