Description

Consultant, Geotechnical Engineer sought by WSP USA Inc. Pompano Beach, FL to be responsible for sophisticated engineering duties required for the successful design, build, management, and maintenance of transportation and transit structures/facilities controlled by the Florida Turnpike Authority, with a focus on the geotechnical engineering aspects of civil engineering project execution and the provision of specialty geotechnical design and construction services.  Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or related, with coursework on Fundamentals of Soil behavior and Design of Earth Structures required; 6 months experience as civil engineer, researcher, or intern required.  Exp must include: reviewing transportation department specifications on roadway projects; performing research work on projects funded by transportation agencies to assist with project development (observation of current practices adopted, laboratory testing of the materials used, extensive literature search and cost-benefit analysis, development of decision trees to select an appropriate strategies); performing  research work on feasibility studies of soil improvement with the application of Enzyme Induced Carbonate Precipitation (EICP); and conducting geotechnical laboratory experiments.  Internship or Graduate Research Assistantship experience accepted.
