Specialist II, Library Reference (Part Time)

Job Summary
Staffing the Markosian Library Reference Desk Monday thru Thursday 10am to 2pm.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Helping students, faculty, staff, and community patrons with various library needs and questions. Staffing a services desk during regularly scheduled hours, including a Saturday shift. Working with library staff on various projects and committees. Providing quality customer service and research support. Answering questions in-person, online, phone, and via email. Basic data collection.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s of Library Science (MLS) or related degree.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Familiarity with basic computer productivity products.
Familiarity with Dewey Decimal and/or LC classification systems.
Ability to work well with a diverse group of people.
Ability to communicate in a variety of modalities.
Self motivated and ability to operate with a minimum of direct supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
