The Daily Record Has an Opening for Second Shift Reel Room Operator.
Helpful skills include being mechanically inclined, have basic computer skills, a valid drivers license, high school diploma or GED Equivalent, able to climb stairs, ladders, stoop, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
The duties of this position are to prepare rolls of newsprint for production, keep accurate records of newsprint used, assist in make ready set up for press runs, maintenance and cleaning of the press while practicing safe work habits at all times.
This is a full time, second shift Sunday thru Thursday 2pm to 10pm entry level positionand starting pay is $17/hr.
Loading, tracking, and inventory newsprint used during production.
Keep newsprint organized according to size and weight in warehouse
Learn and perform make ready setups on press such as webbing up the press,
putting covers on angle bars for half sheets, hanging plates, and any other tasks assigned to them by the shift supervisor to allow for on time press starts.
Keep waste boxes replaced when full, clean press as time allows
Pull plates and wash blankets after all printing is complete
Performing plate-room duties when necessary.
Practice safe working habits - keeping work area clean at all times. Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
