By collaborating with our other product development groups across Apple, you'll push the industry boundaries of what wireless systems can do and improve the product experience for our customers across the world. As a Modeling Engineer, you will be at the center of hardware and firmware design for Apple cellular modems. You will contribute to 4G/5G firmware design, hardware component modeling and virtual platform design. The position requires a breath of skills ranging from hardware design, real-time embedded firmware and software development skills. The position also requires somebody who is comfortable working at different level of abstraction from hardware to virtual platforms, from hardware to software and is flexible enough to pivot on constantly evolving requirements.
- 10 years of proven experience with firmware and/or ASIC design
- Knowledge of C/C++
- Experience with cellular physical layer and/or L2 protocols
- Knowledge of DSP algorithms is a plus
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Experience with software optimization is a plus
- General knowledge of real-time operating system is a plus
You will specify, design and implement hardware cellular modem virtual platforms. Design and implement efficient real-time embedded 4G/5G physical layer and L2 firmware. Use the knowledge of hardware and firmware to contribute to hardware design specs for improved efficiency.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
