Description

Behavior Specialist Berkshire County Arc is seeking a full-time Behavior Specialist, Monday-Friday, primarily 9-5 pm with some flexibility depending on program needs The Behavior Specialist will provide clinical consultation and training in behavior management to staff in residential and day programs supporting individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries, Acquired Brain Injuries, Developmental Disabilities, and other intellectual and behavioral challenges. The primary function of the Behavior Specialist is to create, implement and monitor behavior intervention strategies and plans, facilitate data collection, conduct program observations and provide in-service training and support with front line staff to promote skills building and understanding of specific individual plans and general behavioral principles. The Behavior Specialist will work closely with team members to coordinate behavior management, participate in weekly meetings, coordinate communication among professional staff, be a regular and consistent presence in day programs and residences, maintain data systems and complete reports as needed. Applicant must have a bachelor's degree in psychology, special education or related field. Extensive behavioral knowledge based on the principles of ABA and at least 3 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or brain injuries is required.
