Apple's Interactive Media Group (IMG) is looking for a creative and dedicated software engineer, who is excited to be a part of the future of Streaming Media at Apple! Our technology powers streaming media experiences at scale on Apple and 3rd party platforms (e.g, iPhone, ATV, 3rd party smart TV's, etc). Such technologies enable a client app to stream video at very high quality from your favorite video services (e.g. ATV+, iTunes Movies, HBO, Hulu, etc) with minimal interruption. Our team is responsible for the design and implementation of HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), which an industry standard streaming technology for delivering live and on demand audio and video at scale, developed by Apple. We are looking for a software engineer to design and build - tools and infrastructure using automation and machine learning to make the initial screening and triaging of feedback reports more effective and fast. In this role, you will be responsible for triaging bugs in our frameworks (CoreMedia, AVFoundation), manage a large queue in a timely manner, reduce them to actionable steps, and assign them to appropriate engineers. You will also be developing tools to automate, expedite, and optimize the triage process for our organization. You'll also be responsible to build and maintain test apps and reporting dashboards that help the team develop and maintain software features and quality.
Education & Experience
BS/MS in Computer Science / Computer Engineering or equivalent required
- Nice to have, but not required:
- Proficiency in multi-threaded development
- Knowledge of streaming media protocols: HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), DASH.
- Experience with Splunk
- Experience with machine learning or data analytics
- Experience with scripting languages
- Web browser experience a plus
