The Direct Sourcing Commodity Manager is responsible for supporting the sourcing and installation of specific construction materials used in the Apple Retail Stores worldwide. Strategy Evaluate unique and complex supply chains to improve existing supplier strategy for the commodity and expand the supply base. Develop and implement overall supply chain strategy and be expected to manage executive level relationships with supply base. Travel as necessary to facilitate new supplier bring-up and ensure quality specifications are met for worldwide supply base. Drive and project manage internal partners for cost and schedule efficiency opportunities. Drive new supplier on-boarding process. Supplier Management Independently lead all aspects of the supplier relationship. Manage the resources and drive the distribution of RFP's, contract negotiations and procurement for the commodity worldwide. Lead pricing negotiations through supply base with support from cross-functional team members. Build, manage, and close value-engineering initiatives for this commodity. Continuous research and education of the commodity technologies and suppliers to apply market trends and efficiencies applicable to improving the store and construction environment. Negotiate contracts to closure with management review for key terms and conditions. Execution Ensure detailed execution of project delivery and quality for commodity. Manage supplier forecasting to ensure zero airfreight exposure for commodity. Supply demand balance for complex projects and supply chains. Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies.

Key Qualifications

  • You are a validated leader who will do "whatever-it-takes" to get the job done!
  • You possess strong discernment and experience leading strategic supply chains, cost models, and complex procurements.
  • You have a background in handling detailed negotiations.
  • You have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Procurement, engineering or contracting experience within construction field is helpful. Experience with furniture, finished wood, and other finished furniture materials is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience.

Description

Track project on site date requirements and work with vendors and logistics to fabricate, deliver, and install on schedule. Support and troubleshoot store integration/installation issues worldwide.
