The Maintenance Technician works with the Facilities Maintenance Manager to ensure all Apple facilities and all related equipment are maintained the highest standards. You will have a close partnership with the Facilities Service Center and the Facilities Building Managers as it is vital to ensure services do not impact business operations. We regularly interact with people at all levels throughout the company and represent the Facilities Department as a professional partner at all times.
- 2 - 4 years of proven experience.
- Substantial understanding of building mechanical, electrical, or plumbing concepts.
- Skilled understanding of the accurate use of common hand tools.
- A good understanding and use of specialized tools and test equipment and of computers and software tools including, but not limited to, email, MS Office, BOX, and CMMS software.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen and provide clear input with all levels.
- Ability to learn new software, systems and devices including CMMS, facility and MacOS and IOS platforms.
We are responsible for maintaining and repairing the facility's equipment, grounds, and building systems including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and structure. Responsibilities will include, but are limited to:
Independent work as well as in a team environment in a safe, effective, and efficient manner including work in skilled trades such as carpentry and painting in the maintenance, repair and/or alteration of structures such as walls, rooftops, office fixtures and equipment.
Working with facilities team in the installation, repair and maintenance of building, mechanical and electrical systems required in production and operations processes.
Regular and special maintenance inspections of the premises, systems, and equipment as required to proactively determine repair work that is necessary in order to maintain working order and business continuity.
Reading and understanding blueprints, drawings or rough sketches as well as electrical schematics.
Successfully completing assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring professional judgment in resolving issues and/or in making recommendations.
Performs a variety of tasks in addition to the above as required by facility management on a regular basis.
Understanding implications of working in a fast-paced environment and makes recommendations for successful solutions as well as a willingness to provide on-call support in case of emergencies or other off-hours issues.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED and a valid CA Driver's License.
Documented proof of basic technical training in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing concepts from an accredited institution or trade school. A.S. Degree and certificates of completion preferred.
