The Frameworks and Design Systems team is part of Apple's Worldwide Marketing Communications (Marcom) Department. Marcom designs and delivers the iconic brand images and experiences to various sites, apps and retail stores. We work on many high-impact projects that serve various Apple lines of business. We use the latest in open source technologies and continue to evolve and deliver solutions on a worldwide scale. Working with a variety of multi-functional teams, we bring it all together to deliver the interactive experiences with an excellent group of software engineers while having fun along the way. The Frameworks & Design Systems team is seeking a component and library focused Front End Developer. This developer will be tasked with helping develop some of our core components and style bootstrap primarily using HTML, Sass, and vanilla JavaScript. Key Qualifications

  • 6+ years of software development experience with front-end web development (JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3).
  • Solid JavaScript programming skill without the need to rely on libraries to accomplish innovative interactions.
  • 4+ years of experience working with creative teams across design and user experience (UX), implementing and advising on fundamental visual and interactive design discipline.
  • A solid understanding of Sass and Javascript with the ability to develop robust, well-conceived, easily maintained, and systematic code.
  • Highly detail oriented, organized, and patient

Description

This role would be a part of a Design Systems team that creates and maintains core components and styles for apple.com (http://apple.com). This team focuses on writing cleanly architected code to be deployed across multiple web properties. We closely coordinate with business shareholders to provide code that is portable, maintainable, and encourages code reuse and consistency across apple.com We are looking for someone who is self driven and thrives in a collaborative, innovative, and fast moving environment.

Education & Experience

A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience

Additional Requirements

  • - Well versed in the fundamentals of visual and interactive design, with the ability to craft solutions using web standards, semantic markup, and accessibility best practices.
  • - An understanding of all major browsers and the special considerations required for their various quirks.
