ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Director of Marketing manages all aspects of the Caribbean Division's marketing efforts. They are responsible for the management and implementation of strategic marketing programs to build awareness, engage stakeholders, influence conservation action. They ensure that the creative work reflects the positioning, platform, and voice of the organization's marketing objectives and meets client/internal partner needs. The Director of Marketing implements operational delivery of branding principles whether applied internally or outbound. Works closely with various constituents including senior staff, field offices, department and division staff, vendors, and other key stakeholders outside the organization to ensure delivery of projects that contribute to a positive service relationship. Coordinates and manages budgets. Oversees the day-to-day tasks of the program. The Director of Marketing reports to the Executive Director of the Caribbean Division.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

Designs, manages, and implements multiple projects by coordinating the work of other professionals inside and outside the organization, managing budget and ensuring program accountability.
Broad management responsibility for administrative and professional staff that are responsible for key initiatives or programs.
Leads marketing initiatives through collaboration with key stakeholders.
Conceives and writes creatively for various audiences from technical information.
Responsibility and accountability for meeting strategic goals and objectives.
Opportunity to act independently within broad program goals. Work checked through consultation and agreement with stakeholders rather by directives of superiors.
Financial responsibility includes developing and managing project and team budget objectives, evaluating results and developing corrective strategies as needed. Provides input to departmental budget process.
Decisions can commit the organization's resources in a way that affects public image and have program-wide impact.


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 9 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience managing staff and teams.
Experience developing marketing plans and measuring results.
Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
Experience leading complex project and program/account management including financial responsibilities and measuring results of strategic plans and programs.
Exception written and verbal communication skills in English.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Multi-lingual skills appreciated. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. Commitment to incorporating dimensions of diversity, equity, and inclusion in interactions with others.
Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
Master's degree or extensive professional experience.
Familiarity living and/or working in the Caribbean.
Management experience including ability to motivate, lead, set objectives, manage performance and help with conflict resolution on a multi-disciplinary team.
Excellent communications, and presentation skills; ability to persuasively convey the mission of The Nature Conservancy to diverse groups including donors, board members and the public.
Experience fostering an environment of creativity and professional growth.
Experience developing, implementing, and measuring strategic marketing plans and programs.
Demonstrated ability in planning and managing budgets.
Excellent communications, mediation and negotiation skills.
Experience developing, directing and managing multiple projects.
Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in relevant discipline.
Cross disciplinary knowledge to support program objectives.
