Senior Researcher, Warren, MI, General Motors. Research &dell propulsion control technologies for vehicle powertrain syss. Formulate research problems, plan research tasks &experiments, &execute research studies incldg experimental ∼ulation studies. Develop &demonstrate control &diagnostic algorithms to significantly improve fuel economy &energy efficiency, &reduce harmful emissions. Develop mathematical models for physical syss incldg internal combustion engine, electric motors, batteries, power electronics, thermal syss, heat pumps, fluid flow syss, &air flow through manifolds using first principles, empirical, &data-driven methods to enable control sys design &development. Formulate &execute design of experiments to analyze behavior of physical syss to aid mathematical model development. Use MATLAB, Simulink, Python to build SW implementations of mathematical models to enable computer aided anlys of vehicle syss &development of control syss. Formulate &adapt novel control sys technologies incldg model predictive control, optimal control, sliding mode control, machine learning, big data analytics. Develop supervisory control strategies using optimal control theory incldg Pontryagins minimum principle (PMP), dynamic programming (DP), variational calculus, &convex optimization.
