The Security Tools team at Apple is looking for exceptional candidates to enhance compiler support and design language features to improve the security and safety of C, C++, and Objective-C. Key Qualifications

  • A passion for improving the security of software by building innovative language features and easy-to-use developer tools.
  • Proficiency in development in C and C++. Objective-C experience is not required.
  • Experience with compiler development is not required but is helpful.
  • Understanding of past, current, and emerging security exploits is a plus.

Description

This position offers the rare opportunity to create tools that will be used to protect security of Apple platforms used by the millions of users! You'll join a small and focused team but will also work closely with the software engineering organization within Apple. In your engineering role you will:

  • Collaborate with teammates through pull requests, in-person conversations, and Slack.
  • Develop new features, fix interesting bugs, write tests, and review your teammates' code.
  • Help grow strong open-source communities for Clang/LLVM.
  • Work closely with the developer tools organization we are colocated with to create a great developer experience.
  • Collaborate with security engineers, programming language designers, and operating systems engineers to improve the quality and security of software in Apple's ecosystem.
  • Build expertise in and responsibility for specific components of Clang/LLVM. Here you will find that we:
