As part of Apple's Entertainment Transportation Department (AETD), this exempt position of Project Manager will manage all aspects of entertainment transportation for vehicles and drivers on productions, which includes but is not limited to the execution of safety programs, DOT compliance oversight, site visits, and training. This position will be a champion of fostering a culture of DOT compliance and safety, U.S. DOT, California Vehicle Code, and all other jurisdiction regulatory compliance. The position will collaborate with all physical production teams including Legal, Labor Relations, Facilities, Security, EH&S, Risk Management, Finance and Procurement, in all stages of production, in any geography where production is required. The position is responsible for adhering to, and enforcing Apple's Transportation Entertainment Department Policy, and maintaining all required transportation-related permits and documentation. The Project Manager reports to the AETD Manager. - Supports Apple Studios physical production operations - Ensures all Federal/State/Local Department of Transportation requirements are met - Audits Production Operations for compliance - Tracks and monitors driver fitness and qualification, driver hours of service, drug & alcohol protocols and violations, and vehicle fitness and accidents - Monitors production transportation operational goals; prepares reports for management - Estimated 10% of the time is spent out of the office on region trainings, inspections and meetings

Key Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience managing or co-managing motor vehicle fleet for transportation media production or similar.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Transportation Compliance Regulatory activities including managing Motor carrier Safety programs, have in-depth knowledge of the regulations.


The Project Manager provides guidance to Physical Production on the safe administration and operation of Apple Studios' Motor Carrier Authority. Additionally, the Project Manager maintains Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) compliance through implementation of leading class entertainment-industry compliance processes and procedures. A key component of the position is mentoring and training production transportation crew members and working cross-functionally to develop a team of production industry leaders. The position scope is global, requiring proficient knowledge of U.S., State, and local DOT regulations with a strong emphasis on the State of California regulations. The Project Manager must be able to identify and proactively address transportation and compliance concerns, hazards, and risks by setting goals and implementing functional driver safety strategies. Job tasks include but are not limited to monitoring motor carrier compliance ratings, understanding and administrating corporate policies, auditing compliance factors, and training.
