The Data Center Operations group is looking for a Manager for the Infrastructure Services Worldwide Logistics team. The Worldwide Logistics manager will be responsible for the performance of the Worldwide Logistics team which provides parcel and freight solutions for our global data centers. In this role you will focus on developing and sustaining solutions through communication and coordination with Apple Data Center teams, Business Groups and 3rd Party Logistics Providers to deliver materials and services to meet global business objectives. We seek a self starter, visionary teammate with strong leadership capabilities to drive standard as well as innovative methodologies to achieve these objectives. The Worldwide Logistics manager role requires an experienced logistician capable of combining extraordinary analytical capabilities with communication and coordination skills. The role necessitates a highly motivated individual with good communication and customer service skills. This person should demonstrate a successful track record in data analysis, project management, and execution of logistics plans. This position will support infrastructure operations and the Materials Management team in order to meet enterprise strategic objectives.

Key Qualifications

  • 3-5 years leading operations in a logistics and transportation environment
  • Demonstrate superb communication and coordination skills
  • Extensive experience coordinating logistical movements across geographical regions
  • Understanding of International Shipping Processes & International Compliance requirements, Operations Finance, Cost Metrics, Budgets and Purchase Orders
  • Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle, automation, processes, and operations planning
  • Ability to react quickly to new information, opinion and direction
  • Capable of pulling together many sources of information to help prioritize and lead operations
  • Ability to work under stress and lead difficult situations
  • Must be a solid teammate and have experience working extensively with multi-functional teams
  • Ability to develop positive relationships and partner with Apple Business Groups & other Apple Data Center teams
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and understanding of team fundamentals to effectively empower and develop team to achieve goals & objectives
  • Real passion for identifying the root cause of problems with an ability to identify, propose, and recommend innovative solutions to diverse partners
  • Previous experience leading and mentoring technical senior individual contributors and managers.
  • Extraordinary ability to adapt logistical requirements to meet Data Center objectives
  • Experience in Data Center operations is a plus


In this role you will drive standard methodologies for international logistics operations providing both freight and parcel solutions for our Apple Owned and Remote Data Centers. You will provide innovative, sustainable solutions to reduce cost, improve utilization and support Data Centers' abilities to deliver within agreed service level objectives. This position will be expected to partner proactively with Trade Compliance, Export Control and Finance teams to meet both legal and financial requirements for the movement of goods internationally. Other responsibilities include: Lead material movements with Engineers, Project Managers and/or Customer Business teams on executing movements within required delivery timelines Develop and provide regular reporting and status updates on logistic activities to senior leadership and customers Ensure required actions are performed in Apple systems to facilitate job function Identify issues and perform Root Cause Analysis to prevent future operational impact Develop and refine key performance indicators to measure operational performance and process compliance

Education & Experience

Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience

  • Prior experience in operations, supply chain, inventory management, transportation, or 3rd Party Logistics is required.
